Lutfi's been running the clipper across Canggu for 10+ years
A skin fade is only as good as the blending. Most fades you'll find in Bali tourist strips are rushed — clipped down to a number, blended in 30 seconds, dusted off and out the door. Looks fine in the mirror, looks rough in photos a week later when the lines have grown out unevenly.
Lutfi takes 35–45 minutes on a fade because the blend is done in three passes: clipper-over-comb, then guard-down work near the temples and nape, then a soft scissor finish at the top so the transition into your length doesn't sit as a hard line. He'll ask you upfront whether you want a low, mid, or high fade — most guys haven't been asked that before, but it's the difference between "tidy" and "actually flattering for your face shape".
A lot of expats and digital nomads who live in Canggu, Berawa, and Pererenan come up to Munggu (10 minutes inland) for a cut because the shop's quieter, the wait is shorter, and the price is roughly half of what you'd pay on Jl. Pantai Berawa. Indonesian regulars from Kapal, Mengwi, Seseh, and Cemagi make up the rest.

Same cut, same equipment, at your front door
Some clients prefer the cut to come to them — wedding mornings, photo shoots, family villas with three or four guys booked back-to-back, or just because they don't feel like riding a scooter at 4 PM in the rain. Lutfi runs a mobile service to villas across the Canggu / Seseh / Cemagi / Kaba Kaba zone.
He brings everything the shop has — clippers, scissors, straight razor, towels, capes, sanitiser, finishing products. You provide a chair (any kitchen or dining chair works), good lighting, and ideally a tiled or wooden floor for easier hair clean-up. He sweeps and bags his own clippings.
Mobile cuts cost a small premium over walk-in (covers travel time and the kit logistics). The further out from Munggu, the higher the call-out — Berawa and Echo Beach are still very reasonable; Uluwatu or Sanur is doable but quoted case-by-case. For groups of 2+ booked together, the per-head price drops significantly.

A beard line-up is one of those things that looks easy on Instagram and takes years to actually do well. The line that runs from your sideburn down to your jaw is the difference between "groomed" and "I shaved this myself in the dark". Lutfi uses a straight razor for the edge work — clippers leave a fuzzy line that grows out blurry; a razor leaves a clean, photographable edge that holds for 5–7 days.

Most clients book the beard trim alongside a haircut — it's faster (~10 minutes added to the chair time) and the lines on your fade and your beard end up matching, which is what makes the whole thing look intentional rather than two separate services done at two separate places.
